War diary of A.S. Hutton [transcript]

Diary of A.S. Hutton, signaller, No 10 H.Q. Staff, 3rd Light Horse Regiment AIF, May 12-Nov 30, 1915. Hutton describes his experiences in Egypt, the fighting around Quinn's Post, and the illnesses contracted by him and his fellow soldiers in the field, including illnesses requiring transfer to Alexandrina, Lemnos etc.

Sergeant Hutton went on to serve in France and was wounded in action twice; he was gassed on 12 October 1917 and received a gunshot wound on 22 August 1918.

During World War Two Hutton served on the Darwin Overland Maintenance Force from 29 July 1939 to 24 January 1941.
