S.A. football budget for 4 September 1915 (West Adelaide vs Port Adelaide).
The 1915 season was the last until 1919, as the S.A. Football League was suspended with so many young men involved in World War One.
An interesting football match was held in 1918 on the Jubilee Oval in Adelaide, between young women wearing dresses. The attending crowd included the Governor and the match raised funds for the war effort. The match was advertised in the Football Notices of The Advertiser newspaper:
Saturday 21 September 1918, "A Struggle for Supremacy. By permission of the Department of Repatriation and sanction of Red Cross Society. Under the distinguished patronage of his Excellency the Governor Sir Henry Galway, Lady Galway. and his worship the Mayor, the Mayoress, Brigadier-General Antill. and Captain Burford. North Adelaide v. South Adelaide. Come and see these girls play football on the Jubilee Oval, 3 pm. to-day. Proceeds go to provide comforts for the ANZACs. Don't miss seeing this match". The library has a photograph of the match which can be viewed on the library catalogue.
The South Australian Football League recommenced publication of the magazine, under the title S.A. Footballer, from May 1919.
