TitleLe petit messager des missionsDate of publication[1844-?]Description
These small French religious publications of the 1840s contain thrilling stories of missionary adventures for children. The stories have been collected from all over the world - including Greenland, Fiji, Africa and India. Australia appears within a general description of the Pacific Islands.
The stories are true and often quite violent. The Pacific story for example, includes the history of John Williams who, along with another missionary, was eaten by cannibals in the New Hebrides in 1839.
