Letters written by Victor Voules Brown [transcript]

Transcript of letters written by Victor Voules Brown to members of his family between 4 October 1916 and 22 May 1918. The letters describe Brown's sea voyage to England via South Africa, his arrival in England, and his experiences fighting in France.

Victor Voules Brown was born at Palmerston in the Northern Territory in 1885. He enlisted in South Australia on 27 June 1916 and joined the 48th Battalion. On 11 April 1917 Brown was wounded in action; he received a gunshot wound to his right leg. He returned to Australia in 1919.
