A new map of South Australia [cartographic material]

Map of the lower part of South Australia from Fowlers Bay in the west to Discovery Bay in the east, with notes on vegetation and topography and comments such as 'natives seen' near Coffin Bay, and 'met Le Geographe coming from the S.E.' in Encounter Bay near the mouth of the Murray. This map is based on the surveys of Matthew Flinders and Col. William Light. Relief shown by hachures and bathymetric soundings.

Insets: Sketch of Nepean Bay and Kingscote Harbour /by Wm. Chesser -- [The city of Adelaide- with the acre allotments numbered] -- [Gulf of St. Vincent].
Similar to map titled: The maritime portion of South Australia : from the surveys of Captn. Flinders & Col. Light, Survr. Genl / by John Arrowsmith, published 35 Essex Street, Strand, June 5th, 1838, but lacks title and linear scale to 'The city of Adelaide' inset and has some differences in topographic detail.
