New Zealand Soldiers at the Cheer up Hut in Adelaide in 1916; there are two women in the front row and a number of people are looking out from the second floor window where three different flags are hanging.
The 75 branches of the uniquely South Australian Cheer Up Society provided free meals and entertainment to servicemen, notably at the Cheer Up Hut located behind the City Baths where the Adelaide Festival Centre now stands. Alexandra Seager was the founder of the society and sits in the front row centre of the photograph.
