Frederick William John Coats, 27 year old son of William Coats, married Lucy Gertrude, 23 year old daughter of George Rainey at the Scott Creek Methodist Church on 21 March, 1908. They settled in Waikerie where Frederick was an orchardist and they had at least seven children. They wrote The Christian Soldier and possibly other songs, together. They lived at Vale Park when Frederick predeceased his wife at Magill Hospital in 1968.
