WALTER (SKIPPER) FRANCIS
During a prolonged stay in Australia, 'Skipper' Francis composed For auld lang syne! Australia Will be there, a favourite song of Australian patriots and troops during the Great War. A  Welsh baritone singer who played steel guitar, he was not Australian-born. In Britain and the USA  he was a champion wrestler, boxer, cyclist, swimmer and runner.

The Riverina Herald on 30 March 1925 advertised (page 1) that he would appear in person at the local screening of One Week of Love with the Paramount Full Orchestra.
