John Burgess and Adriana Xenides of Wheel of Fortune

Channel 7's Wheel of Fortune was recorded in Adelaide from 1981 to 1996 when production was shifted to Sydney. The first three seasons were hosted by Ernie Sigley. 'Baby' John Burgess then took the wheel for the next twelve years - before being replaced upon the Sydney move. The very popular Adriana Xenides was co-host from the start until 1999, except for a break in 1996 for health reasons.

Born in 1956, a young Adriana moved, with her family, to Adelaide from Argentina. Before her television career she had worked as a model. At one point she held the Guinness World Record as the longest running game show host. She passed away in 2010.

John Burgess continues to work in radio.
