John Bowditch was born at Portsmouth, England and came to South Australia in 1925 aged 15. He enlisted in 1940 and initially served in the Middle East. During his service in Greece John became a prisoner of war. In the selections presented here John discusses his experiences as a prisoner of war including the types of work he did and how it changed his attitude towards war.
