History/biography
Geoff Barnes served as a National Serviceman in the Vietnam War, after being conscripted in the 'lottery' system. Basic training was at Puckapunyal, following which he joined the Medical Corps, working with the Eight Field Ambulance in Vietnam (as a medical orderly, and then in the laboratory). After his return from Vietnam he taught in Darwin for 12 months before resigning and travelling overseas for two years, after which he returned to Australia where he has done a variety of jobs.
