Letter to Mrs Jessie Smith from Henry Robert Adamson

Letter written to Jessie Smith: "Elder House, Adelaide, 18th August 1928. Dear Mrs Smith, This mornings' mail from England brought a letter from Mr James Waite with some enlargements of the small photos he took at Mutooroo early in the year. I am enclosing three that I think you may like to have in memory of the old days. Today looks most promising for rain and I hope we may get a real good downpour. With kind regards, yours sincerely, H.R. Adamson".

Henry Robert Adamson was born at Kapunda, South Australia in 1867. He attended Prince Alfred College from 1875 until 1882, and upon leaving school joined the staff of the Norwood branch of the Bank of Adelaide. Later he became associated with Elder, Smith Ltd, and was in the wool department for several years before resigning to become secretary of Beltana and Mutooroo Pastoral Companies for the following 35 years. For a number of years he was a member of the Stockowners' Association of South Australia. He died in June 1938, leaving a widow and four children.
