'Lost in Space' gouache wash pencil drawing

South Australian Michal Dutkiewicz has worked as an illustrator and comic artist for American DC Comics' Superman and Batman Forever series, Innovation's Lost in Space, and Marvel Comics' Wolverine: Doombringer. The award-winning artist has also published his work in Australian magazines including Reverie Comic Magazine and Eureka!, children's books and on record covers.

The gouache wash pencil drawing is signed on the verso. It was published in Lost in space vol.1, no.11, December 1992. The Lost in space comic books were based on the classic 1960s television series with the same name.

To commemorate the 40th anniversary of the TV show Lost In Space, in 2005 Bubblehead Publishing plans to release a complete collection of Bill Mumy's twelve part comic book adventure Lost in space: Voyage to the bottom of the soul. In 1992-1993, the original story was published in serialized form by Innovation Publishing, but the company went out of business before all chapters of the story were completed. Members of the original team including artist Michal Dutkiewicz are working on this project.

This artwork was included with other items donated by Michal Dutkiewicz's brother Adam which were added to the personal record group for their father Wladyslaw Dutkiewicz (PRG 1385) in 2007.
