Adelaide Rose Festival

Poster for Adelaide Rose Festival held 19-24 April 1995.

This poster features the 'Spirit of Peace' rose. This was chosen in honour of the 50 th anniversary of the end of World War II, celebrated as 'Australia remembers'. The 'Spirit of Peace' rose also commemorates the 50 th anniversary of the beautiful 'Peace' rose which was developed to celebrate the end of the war. The 'Peace' rose has been extremely popular over the years and has large yellow orange blooms. 'Spirit of Peace' is an apricot pink bloom.

The poster refers to the Australian Rose Conference, the Autumn Rose Show, rose championships, a Rose Ball and exhibitions and tours and field days.

The Rose Festival was sponsored by the City of Adelaide, various rose nurseries and Sensational Adelaide, a division of Australian Major Events.
