Tales of Hoffman theatre set designs

Theatre set designs in watercolour for the Tales of Hoffman by Jacques Offenbach, staged at Elder Conservatorium of Music Union Hall, 1964.

Born in Poland in 1922, Joseph Stanislaus Ostoja-Kotkowski migrated to Melbourne in 1949, moving to Stirling, South Australia in 1955. He was a prolific artist of enormous diversity: his work included painting, theatre design, photography, film-making, murals, stained glass, sculpture, computer graphics and laser art.

He is recognised for his pioneering creative use of modern technology in chromasonics, laser kinetics and 'sound and image' productions.
