Latent Debris : [poster]

Adelaide born illustrator and graphic artist Michal Dutkiewicz is a member of the artistic Dutkiewicz family. He has worked on comics such as Lost in space, Batman and Captain Koala. He won the Australian Cartoonists Association's Stanley Award for the Best Adventure Strip Artist in 1991.

Posters are considered part of the graphic design arts rather than 'art' as such, and art dictionaries often do not incude an entry for the poster. This may be because posters are usually produced for a purpose - to encourage people go to a concert or a gallery or a sporting event, to buy a new product or go on a holiday - rather than produced as artworks. Posters can also be produced simply as decorative art, but usually inexpensively on inexpensive paper. Vintage posters - those printed 50 to 100 years ago - are highly collectable and have investment value.
