A transcript of the Commission for Roger, 2nd Lord North, as Lord Lieutenant of Cambridgeshire signed by Elizabeth I.

Roger North’s (1531-1600) career included positions as MP, Ambassador to France, and Treasurer of the Household. He was also a personal friend of the Queen’s favourite, Robert Dudley, Earl of Leicester. As Lord Lieutenant of Cambridgeshire he often clashed with University officials.
