Rashamra were a group who played a progressive rock style and performed only original material. The lineup featured Peter Jesser on guitar, vocalist Andy Peake, Peter Staben on keyboards, bassist John Falletti and drummer John Haffert. The band released two singles of all-original songs Antelope/Hang on to what you have in 1971 and Mr Timekeeper/Paradise found (with apologies to Milton) in 1972. Both were released on the Edition One label.

Rashamra often organised their own shows and also played the Largs Pier Hotel. They also joined other groups playing at Snap Crackle Rock at Berri and the Meadows Technicolour Fair, both held in January 1972.

Rashamra's guitarist, Peter Jesser, has donated his musical archive to the State Library. Papers include: newspaper cuttings; photograph equipment hire form; program, posters and artwork; and backstage cue sheets for concert appearance. There are also papers relating to his other projects, Arthur's Thumb and Hard Rock Theatre.
