The 1996 Adelaide Fringe was held from 23 February-17 March and co-ordinated by Director Barbara Allen.
After admitting international participants in 1988 the Fringe continued to grow and by 1996 more than 180 venues played host to Fringe activities. For the first time in 1996 the focus of Fringe action, including the Fringe Club, was in the city's East End.
