Bev Harrell was Adelaide's foremost female vocalist of the 1960s. Appearing at clubs such as the Oxford and Princeton, she would join bands such as the Twilights on stage. She went on to sing with the Vibrants at dances they organised themselves and with the Clefs. After appearing on the Melbourne television show Uptight, she was offered various record contracts. This led to her first single being released by His Master's Voice at the end of 1966. What am I doing here with you? spent thirteen weeks in the Top 40. Other hits followed, including Come on over to our place and One in a million. Her first album This is Bev was released by HMV in 1967 and contains the first two singles.

She has performed all over the world including performing for troops in Vietnam in 1969 and 1970, releasing records in the UK, and presenting her own television special in Canada in the early 1970s. She continues to perform as a solo artist and in musical theatre.
