Egg laying chicken Easter toy

To play, hold the body and press down gently to release an egg. The wings will also lift when the toy is activated.
To load the eggs back into the compartment, turn the toy upside down and hold down the legs to the body to drop the eggs back into the compartment one at a time.

Over the decades toys of this nature were produced for Easter time, particularly in the United States. Some were wind-up tin toys, some were plush and some even had nests with them.

Similar toys are still available for general play or giving of Easter gifts which has recently become more popular in Australia, with or instead of chocolate offerings.

At least they last a bit longer than chocolate and can be played with all year round.
