Diary of Henry Charles Swan

Photostat copy of the diary of Henry Charles Swan, covering the period from his arrival in Adelaide in 1854 until 1860.

Henry Swan was born at Newcastle-on-Tyne in 1834. He arrived in S.A. in 1854 in the Norma and then proceeded north to take up Mattawarungla Station. He then went to Fowler's Bay then Angorichina Station. In 1865 he became a Stipendiary Magistrate, a position he held in various locations. He died in 1908 in Scotland during a trip around the world.
