Inaugural Treasures Wall exhibition
The Treasures Wall exhibition showcases historical and contemporary materials drawn from the collections of the State Library of South Australia. It celebrates the remarkable depth and diversity of the collections by presenting a selection of items drawn from the wealth of State Library holdings, including rare books, manuscripts, archival materials, artworks, artefacts, photographs, and printed ephemera.
The Treasures Wall exhibition space launched in October 2003 with a spectacular range of gems from the State Library of South Australia's collections including an extraordinary clay tablet dating back to about 2000 BC, a exquisitely illuminated thirteenth century Antiphonal, clockwork toys, a prisoner of war diary from the Second World War and the level used by Colonel William Light to survey Adelaide and its surrounds.
