BiographyIvan Limb was born in Adelaide in 1950. His grandfather made wine and brandy for Tolleys. Godfather was Jack Neilson from Rutherglen - he built the underground cellars at Waikerie and Cyrilton. Ivan was one of the 5 students to graduate from Wagga in 1975; worked for Kevin Sobels in the Hunter Valley and met Brian Croser the chief winemaker for Hardys; Wagga was the forst to have a 3 year degree course; first job was at Orlando and Wickham Hill winery; talks about Ron Potter; changes in making red wine; left Orlando in 1993 and formed his own company Australian Vintage (AustVin); a contract processor; quickly successful; went public and sold the business four years later for $120 million; bought Cockatoo Ridge for $20 million
