Biography
Ethel Cooper, a South Australian musician, was living in Leipzig, Germany when World War One broke out. She was allowed to stay on in Leipzig during the war and in her weekly letters to her sister in Adelaide (most were unable to be posted to Australia) offer a unique insight into life on the German home front during the conflict.
