Benefit performance by the Patriotic Orchestra, performing works by various composers. Leader of the orchestra was Sylvia Whitington, accompanist: Dorothy McBride, assisting artists: Hilda Gill (contralto) and Gordon James (baritone).

The hand written note on the front page of the program reads: 'Given to the illness of Mr Alderman, the orchestra was conducted by Mr Farrow. Mr Alderman died on Tuesday June 13, 1916'.

Conductor, violinist and music teacher Eugene Alderman was very active in fundraising efforts during the War. When he died suddenly, at age 33 in 1916, his loss was keenly felt by the music community. Prizes in his name are still awarded by the Elder Conservatorium of Music.
