Armida Mattiazzo (nee Biasetto) grew up in Ponzano, a small village near Treviso in northern Italy. She describes life during the war as a teenager and her arrival in Australia in the early 1950s as a young woman. She speaks about her early married life at a remote mica mine (Last Chance mine), an eight-hour jeep ride from Alice Springs. She describes arriving in Adelaide, a temporary stay on Frogmore Road, leasing and owrking glasshouses at Lockleys by herself. She also identifies people in the Venetor community in Adelaide in the 1950s and '60s; taking in young Italian men as boarders and other work that she took on in Adelaide; her family; visits to Italy; her children's marriages and her husband's death.
